Loaded Guacamole & Egg Sourdough Toast

Currently at v2.2 · every substantive change to Loaded Guacamole & Egg Sourdough Toast, newest first. Site-wide changes appear in the full corrections ledger, which also explains what we correct and why.

  1. v2.2Correction

Gave explicit quantities to seven previously unmeasured ingredients — lime juice (2 tsp), olive oil (1 tsp), butter (2 tsp for toasting), dried oregano (½ tsp) and the optional finishing drizzle (1 tsp) — leaving only salt, pepper and chilli flakes to taste. The nutrition scope now states exactly which quantities the estimate covers; the estimate itself, which already assumed modest amounts of these ingredients, is unchanged. Also removed three sentences from "Why this works" that repeated Cook's-notes answers word for word.

Why: Our editorial standards promise explicit metric quantities, with "to taste" reserved for genuinely variable seasoning. Cooking fats, citrus and a defining finishing herb are not seasoning: without numbers the recipe cannot be scaled and its nutrition estimate cannot be reproduced.

  2. v2.1Update

Replaced the interim page image — which showed only the toast and guacamole layers — with a product-owner-supplied image of the complete dish: all three layers including the mashed-egg layer, finished with oregano and chilli flakes. The alt text now describes the full assembly. Ingredients, method and nutrition are unchanged.

Why: The interim image could not show the mashed-egg layer and said so in its alt text. The recipe is defined by its layering; the page image should show every layer.

  3. v2.0Update

The page was rewritten from the product owner's real household recipe and renamed from "Avocado Sourdough Toast" to "Loaded Guacamole & Egg Sourdough Toast"; the old address redirects permanently. This is a different dish, so the version moves to 2.0: a loaded guacamole (onion, deseeded tomato, cucumber, optional green chilli) replaces the plain avocado mash, mashed boiled eggs form their own separate layer, butter replaces olive oil for toasting, and dried oregano finishes the assembled toast. The layering order is fixed and deliberate. Nutrition, cost and the photo were redone for the new dish, and every placeholder from v1.1 is gone.

Why: The launch draft was editorial; the household version is the source of truth. The guacamole and eggs stay separate layers because the order of layers changes the eating experience — mixing them flattens it.

  4. v1.1Update

All recipe content — ingredients, method, decision cues, expected result and storage — was replaced with clearly marked placeholders while the recipe is rewritten from the product owner's real household version. The photo and the v1.0 nutrition estimates remain on the page and will be recalculated when the real recipe lands; a visible note on the page says authoring is in progress.

Why: The launch version was drafted editorially rather than from a cooked household recipe. Rather than polish it, we are replacing it wholesale — the placeholders keep the page honest about its state in the meantime.
