Masala Omelette
Currently at v1.4 · every substantive change to Masala Omelette, newest first. Site-wide changes appear in the full corrections ledger, which also explains what we correct and why.
v1.4Update
Every recipe now records the real-life moments it is the honest answer to ("Perfect when… you have ten minutes and two eggs"), and recipe cards show the first of them as a decision cue. Moments describe situations, never audiences. Ingredients, method and nutrition are unchanged.
Why: Chef organizes recipes around situations. Cards previously showed what a recipe is but not when to choose it — this puts the deciding moment where the decision happens.
v1.3Update
Rewrote both descriptions to say plainly what this recipe is for: the everyday baseline for when the kitchen holds nothing more than eggs and aromatics — and, for the same eggs built into a fuller plate, the stored long description now points to the Savoury Skyr Egg Toast. Ingredients, method and nutrition are unchanged.
Why: A recipe audit found the recipe's role in the catalogue — the baseline, not a discovery — was implied but never stated anywhere a reader could see it.
v1.2Update
Every fact now appears exactly once per page. The aggregated "Substitutions & options" card was removed from recipe and side pages — substitution and optionality guidance renders only at the ingredient it belongs to. Nutrition-scope notes (for example "covers two chillas per person" or "based on full-fat paneer") moved from cook’s notes into the nutrition panel, and the boilerplate "nutrition values are estimates" sentence was removed from every cook’s note — the nutrition panel and the page disclaimer already state it. Ingredient-choice advice that lived in cook’s notes (which whey or skyr to buy, how ripe the banana or tomato should be) moved onto the ingredient itself. No quantities, methods or nutrition figures changed.
Why: A page-level review found the same guidance rendered two or three times in different wording, which forces readers to reconcile near-duplicate sentences. Chef follows a single-source-of-truth rule: each fact has one owner and renders once.
v1.1Correction
Nutrition values previously included an optional skyr dip served alongside. They now cover the dish alone: Besan Chilla estimated protein 19 g → 11 g per serving, Masala Omelette 18 g → 13 g. Both recipes consequently lost the "High protein" tag (threshold: 15 g estimated protein per serving). The dip is now published separately as the High-Protein Skyr Dip, and combined figures appear only in labelled pairing cards.
Why: Bundling an optional accompaniment into the headline numbers overstated what the dish itself provides. Separating them makes every number attributable.
